This was something me think of and had written this long back, during my high school days. Me found this in a peic e of paper which was in Resnick and Halliday(the physics book).

Actually i was fed up with the system there in Andhra, where the mugging up is given importance. What me actually found there was the absolute craze for "BITS-PILANI", and unfortunately, the admission then was on basis of marks obtained in Intermidiate , thtz wht is +2 called. And everybody was after their dreams of "BITS-PILANI". Me always thought tht these ppl. are gonna detoriate the standards of education there. Though a few gud get along with this "mugging" flock.

The education needs a serious thought. There has been a lot of change in the thinking of the general public on the way of education being imparted to the younger generation.

The parents emphasize on getting into the premier institutions of the country, right from the day an infant steps into this world, the first thing the parents are worried is about the school he would be going to. In fact, the parents start thing on their children’s education not from the day they are born but from the day when the seed is planted in the mother’s womb.

It’s reasonable on their part to think of their child’s future, but too much thinking put onto it is not good.

Education has become a huge business in the AP. The amounts of investments runs a few hundred cores, and the fees that are collected also run into few hundred cores. One can find a handful of schools, colleges and so called ‘coaching centers ’ coming up in a locality every year.

The children right from nursery to their intermediate, and also under- graduate courses are presently under tremendous pressure. That’s for scoring some numbers given to them by their instructors.

The one going to nursery is forced to learn as many rhymes as one can. He has to learn those rhymes before his class mates does, there starts the concept of mugging up—clean sweeping of the books…

The one at LKG is forced to learn the alphabets, these things are not taught but they are encouraged to mug up. It would be surprising to note that one does not know what an alphabet looks like, but one knows the entire structure and bends of each alphabet, he cannot pronounce it but can spell.

And a class higher UKG, when it comes to spelling the words. Then they learn their second lesson in mugging. Each one of them is able to put each and every word in the text book, on a paper whenever and where ever u want, it’s like if you wake them up in the middle of the night and ask them to spell the entire text book before their annual exams, they would do so in wink.

And coming to the 1st class, there they start their journey into the world of education and academics. On the first day they make good friends have fun and talk about themselves

And then come the exams and then starts the race for the first position. All they want is to get some good marks than the others in the class. After the exams the parents come in their wards answer sheets and start questioning about their son/daughter performance in the exams, they question the teacher for every mark cut and make hell lose out there.

And then slowly come the final exams the children get no time to play, of course they never got time to lay, all they used to do was to do what so ever was ordered to them. They have to play for a specific time and rest of the time they are in their room lingering with their books, and mugging up the entire lessons one after the other. One thing that can be praised is that one gets a lot to eat; they get their favorites and the best cuisines on demand.

And the race goes for a few years and they keep constantly struggling for the rank in the class and the fighting among each other, for a thing that is going to drown them into the vast oceans in this world.
